The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) announced the launch of the Global Partnership Program for Transboundary Animal Diseases, aiming to enhance prevention of diseases that threaten livestock, food security, and public health.

The organization explained that the program adopts a country-led approach and diversified, sustainable funding. Meanwhile, 110 countries expressed interest in joining it, with FAO Director-General Qu Dongyu affirming that investing in prevention is less costly than facing the repercussions of disease outbreaks.
