An informed source close to the Iranian negotiating team, according to what was reported by Fars News Agency, confirmed the inaccuracy of media reports that spoke of a new round of talks between Iran and the United States next week, describing those reports as "false and baseless."

Fars Agency explained that its correspondent followed reports regarding the resumption of Iranian-American talks next week, before quoting the informed source's categorical denial of these claims, stressing that they are "incorrect."

The agency added that "its political affairs correspondent communicated again with the same source after the two reports were circulated, where he emphasized that what was raised about the resumption of negotiations between Tehran and Washington next week is not based on any facts."

The informed source also denied reports that spoke of completing preparations for holding talks in Islamabad, in addition to claims about resuming technical talks next week, stressing: "This news is false and baseless."

The source stressed that "any developments related to the negotiation process will only be announced through the official channels of the Islamic Republic of Iran," adding that "claims published by some foreign media cannot be relied upon."
