On the other hand, the US Central Command earlier Tuesday announced that the military is conducting more strikes against Iran.

The Central Command added in a social media post that the strikes began Tuesday afternoon Eastern Time.

These strikes come as the United States prepares to re-impose a blockade on Iranian navigation after Tehran announced the closure of the Strait of Hormuz.

The Central Command reported that the US blockade is expected to begin at exactly 2000 GMT.
