Iranian TV: Tehran Not Ready to Continue Negotiations with United States
Iranian TV announced that Tehran is currently not ready to continue the negotiations that were ongoing with the United States; due to Washington's failure to commit to the understandings reached in the Pakistani capital Islamabad.
For his part, the Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman stressed that the Iranian armed forces everywhere are vigilantly monitoring enemy movements and maintaining Iran's security and stability. This follows reports by the Iranian Fars News Agency about sounds of explosions east of Tehran province without knowing their source or causes.
This comes amid ambiguity surrounding the fate of Iranian-American negotiations after the latest escalation, where Iran's targeting of three transiting ships in the Strait of Hormuz led to new US strikes against Iranian targets. The Wall Street Journal quoted US officials as saying that the Donald Trump administration sees diminishing prospects for reaching a nuclear deal with Iran.
