Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Pakistan, Mohammad Ishaq Dar, stressed the need to adhere to the memorandum of understanding and avoid further escalation, emphasizing that maintaining regional peace and security is a top priority, during a phone call he received today from Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah to discuss the latest regional developments.
Ishaq Dar explained that the current phase requires calm and respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of states, stressing the importance of adhering to the ceasefire commitments stipulated in the Islamabad Memorandum, as a fundamental step to support regional stability and prevent the expansion of the circle of tension.
During the call, the Kuwaiti Foreign Minister expressed his country's deep concern over the continued aggressions on Kuwaiti territories, expressing hope that all parties would exercise maximum restraint and that the memorandum of understanding would be fully implemented.
The Kuwaiti Foreign Minister also praised the constructive and mediating role that Pakistan plays in supporting dialogue and enhancing regional stability, commending its efforts to bring viewpoints closer and reduce tension.
