The Russian Defense Ministry announced on Thursday that a military plane crashed during a training mission in the Moscow region, and its pilot survived.

The ministry said in a statement that the pilot managed to eject using an ejection seat, noting that his health condition is stable and his life is not in danger.

The statement added that the plane crashed in an uninhabited area, and the incident did not cause any damage on the ground.

It explained that the plane was conducting a training flight without ammunition, suggesting that a technical malfunction was behind the accident.

The Russian Defense Ministry did not disclose the model of the crashed plane.
