Turkish defense industry head discusses cooperation opportunities with Egyptian defense minister
A letter of intent was signed that will define the framework for cooperation between the two sides in the coming period, according to a post by the head of Turkey’s Defense Industries Haluk Görgün.

Haluk Görgün, head of Turkey’s Defense Industries, discussed on Monday with Egyptian Defense and Military Production Minister Ashraf Salem Zahr ways of cooperation between the two countries.
This came during a meeting at the headquarters of the Presidency of Defense Industries in the capital Ankara, where opportunities for cooperation in the defense industry and ways to develop common capabilities between the two countries were discussed, according to a post by Görgün on his account on the American platform X.
The Egyptian and Turkish sides signed during the meeting a letter of intent that will define the framework for cooperation between the two sides in the coming period, as announced by Görgün.
Görgün expressed confidence that the cooperation to be developed between Turkey and Egypt in the defense industry will contribute to strengthening regional security and developing mutual capabilities between the two countries.
Görgün thanked the Egyptian defense minister and his accompanying delegation for the fruitful discussions held with the Turkish side.
Earlier on Monday, Turkey and Egypt signed a letter of good intent for bilateral defense cooperation, at the conclusion of talks in Ankara between Turkish Defense Minister Yaşar Güler and his Egyptian counterpart Ashraf Salem Zahr, who arrived in Turkey on an official visit.
On Sunday, the Egyptian army announced that Defense Minister Ashraf Salem Zahr departed to Turkey at the head of a military delegation to hold talks on supporting prospects for military cooperation between the armed forces of the two countries in many fields, without specifying the duration of the visit amid the escalating Egyptian-Turkish cooperation on various levels.
