Settlers Seize Palestinian Home, Israeli Army Continues Raids

In several towns in the occupied West Bank

On Wednesday, settlers seized a Palestinian family's home in the village of Jallud, south of Nablus, in the northern occupied West Bank, after forcing them to leave.

Meanwhile, the Israeli army continued to raid towns in the West Bank, arrested a Palestinian, and detained a water tanker in the northern Jordan Valley, according to Palestinian sources.

Local sources told Anadolu that settlers seized the home of citizen Mahmoud al-Toubasi after forcing his family to leave, following assaults and restrictions that lasted more than three months.

The sources added that the settlers had previously burned the home and established an illegal outpost near it, while the family continued to stay there despite the cutting off of water and food amid a state of siege.

They indicated that the settlers cut off electricity to the home days ago and prevented food, water, and medicine from reaching the family, before forcing them to leave and seizing the home.

In the southern part of Jenin governorate (north), Israeli forces raided the town of Qabatiya for the second time within hours on Wednesday evening, according to local sources.

The sources added that Israeli military vehicles toured several streets of the town, spread through its neighborhoods, obstructed the movement of Palestinians and vehicles, and detained a number of citizens for field interrogation, without reporting any arrests or house raids.

The raid came hours after a similar operation by Israeli forces on Wednesday dawn, during which they arrested six freed prisoners after raiding and searching their homes.

In the northern Jordan Valley (northeast), Israeli forces detained a water tanker in the al-Hamma area after intercepting it and emptying its water, according to local sources.

Residents of Khirbet al-Hamma have been experiencing difficulties in obtaining water for months after settlers fenced off the al-Hamma spring on which they depend, forcing them to transport water via tankers from distant areas.

In the town of Hizma northeast of Jerusalem, Israeli forces arrested a Palestinian on Wednesday evening after raiding the town and deploying in several of its neighborhoods, according to the official Palestinian news agency Wafa.

The West Bank has seen an escalation in attacks by the Israeli army and settlers since October 2023, resulting in the killing of 1,182 Palestinians and the arrest of about 24,000, according to official Palestinian data.
