The US State Department issued on Tuesday a "global warning" for Americans due to "rising tensions in the Middle East".

The State Department said in the warning: "Given the escalating tensions in the Middle East, the security situation remains complex with the potential for unexpected escalation."

It added: "Americans currently in the Middle East should exercise caution and prepare for the possibility of flight cancellations."

The US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced on Monday a new round of strikes on Iran for the tenth consecutive night.

CENTCOM reported that the strikes, which began at 4:00 p.m. (20:00 GMT), "aim to continue weakening Iranian military capabilities used to attack commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz."

Iranian media reported the sound of explosions in Bandar Abbas, Qeshm, and Sirik.

Several explosions were also heard in the cities of Chabahar and Konarak in southern Iran, and Isfahan in central Iran.

An explosion also occurred in Shiraz in southwestern Iran, and another in the southern port of Lengeh.

Iranian media also reported that air defenses were activated near the Bushehr nuclear plant.

US President Donald Trump said on Monday that Iran will "pay a price" for killing American soldiers, after a number of US Army personnel were killed in combat operations in the past few days.

The number of US soldiers killed in the war on Iran has risen to 17 in the past few days, with the remains of another soldier undergoing examination.

Trump wrote on Truth Social: "Every time Iran kills an American soldier, they will pay a multiplied price for it."

He added that "Secretary of War Pete Hegseth and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Daniel Caine have been informed of this directive."

Last week, Trump threatened to expand the scope of targets struck in Iran to include power plants and bridges, send ground forces to seize Kharg Island, Iran's main oil export hub, and bomb the underground "Mount Axe" nuclear site.
