US Army: We aim to undermine Iran's ability to threaten innocent sailors
The US Army announced the completion of a new wave of strikes on Iran for the fifth consecutive night. According to Al-Ekhbariya channel, the US Central Command said the strikes were aimed at undermining Iran's ability to threaten innocent sailors aboard commercial vessels transiting the Strait of Hormuz. It added: We targeted Iranian command centers, air defense sites, missile and drone capabilities, and coastal surveillance facilities.
Security of the region and international navigation
The US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced that the US military holds Iran fully responsible for the security of the region and international navigation. It indicated that US forces began a second new wave of concentrated military strikes against Iranian targets at 3:00 PM Eastern Daylight Time. The command explained in an official statement republished by the US Navy that these strikes directly target Iranian military capabilities used to threaten freedom of movement for ships transiting the Strait of Hormuz, a vital international waterway serving as a main artery for global trade.

Undermining Iran's capabilities
Earlier, the US Army announced that it completed on Wednesday the latest series of strikes against Iranian targets, which according to it further undermined Iran's ability to attack commercial shipping traffic in the Strait of Hormuz.
The US Central Command (CENTCOM) said in a statement on platform X that it launched precision-guided munitions targeting coastal defense systems and cruise missile storage and launch sites on Greater Tunb Island during this wave, which lasted 90 minutes.
