US President: Ceasefire with Iran is over!
US President Donald Trump confirmed on Friday that Iran asked the United States for talks, noting that America told Iran in no uncertain terms that the ceasefire has ended.
Trump wrote in a post on his platform Truth Social: 'Iran has asked us to continue the “talks,” and we have agreed to that, but the United States made it clear to them, in terms that admit of no ambiguity, that the ceasefire is over!! Thank you for your attention to this matter.'
The US bombing killed 17 people and injured 93 others in Iran over two days despite the memorandum of understanding signed between the two parties to stop the conflict, according to the latest figures from the Health Ministry.
US military officials said about 90 Iranian military targets were struck in the recent attacks, targeting air defense systems, missile storage sites, and drones.
However, Iran accused the United States of targeting civilian infrastructure including bridges and railway lines linking Tehran and Mashhad (northeast).
The strikes also hit the 'vicinity' of the nuclear power plant in Bushehr province (south), which had been previously targeted during the war, according to an Iranian official.
