The US military announced Thursday evening that it began carrying out new attacks against Iran for the thirteenth consecutive night, as part of the ongoing military operations in the region.

The US Central Command (CENTCOM) said in a statement on platform X that US forces started a new round of strikes, explaining that these attacks aim to hold Iran accountable and reduce the threats posed by the Revolutionary Guard to commercial navigation in the region.

It added that its forces carried out precision strikes targeting Iranian military command centers, in addition to drone storage facilities and communication networks, along with coastal surveillance sites and naval capabilities.

In a related context, Iranian media reported hearing an explosion west of Bandar Abbas city, in addition to another explosion on the southern coast of Iran's Qeshm Island.
