Athens, July 09 (QNA) - Qatar Tourism participated in the 30th Roundtable of Governments organized by The Economist magazine, which began in the Greek capital Athens yesterday, Wednesday, and concludes tomorrow, Friday.

Qatar Tourism was represented at the meeting, which was opened by His Excellency President Konstantinos Tasoulas, President of the Hellenic Republic, by His Excellency Mr. Saad Bin Ali Al Kharji, Chairman of Qatar Tourism and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Visit Qatar. He participated alongside a select group of senior officials, business leaders, decision-makers, and international experts from around the world to discuss ways to enhance international cooperation and the role of infrastructure and innovation in supporting sustainable development.

A statement from Qatar Tourism indicated that His Excellency Mr. Saad Bin Ali Al Kharji participated in the main discussion session titled 'Connecting Regions, Communities, and Countries to Enhance Resilience and Prosperity,' alongside a group of international leaders. The session focused on the role of international cooperation in driving sustainable growth, enhancing resilience, and building economies better able to withstand global changes.

The statement added: His Excellency highlighted Qatar's experience in enhancing the resilience of the tourism sector through effective crisis response and integrated efforts across various entities, emphasizing that resilience has become a fundamental pillar for maintaining investor and traveler confidence and a key driver for the sector's sustainable growth. He also underscored Qatar's status as a global hub seamlessly connecting travelers across Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Middle East through a leading air connectivity network and strategic international partnerships that enhance travel and market linkages.

The statement noted that Qatar Tourism's participation reflects its ongoing commitment to strengthening its presence on prominent global platforms, enhancing strategic partnerships, and showcasing its vision for developing a sustainable tourism sector before an elite group of policymakers, investors, and business leaders. It indicated that the forum provided an opportunity to highlight Qatar's strengths, including its tourism infrastructure and promising investment environment, thereby cementing its position as a reliable tourist destination to meet future demands.
