The Asir Region Municipality affirmed that humanization projects for roads and public facilities and improving the urban landscape have become a fundamental pillar in raising the quality of life and stimulating economic and commercial activity in the region's cities and governorates, as part of its ongoing efforts to develop the urban environment and improve the experience of residents and visitors. His Excellency the Mayor of Asir Region, Engineer Abdullah Al-Jali, explained that the municipality began implementing urban landscape improvement projects in 2022, which included developing roads, sidewalks, lighting, public facilities, and humanization elements, making sites more pedestrian-friendly, safer, and more vibrant, and contributing to enhancing the attractiveness of tourist and commercial destinations. Al-Jali stated that humanization projects are no longer limited to aesthetic aspects but have become an effective element in supporting the local economy and stimulating commercial activity by improving the efficiency of public spaces and enhancing user experience in urban and tourist sites. He pointed out that the municipality implemented these projects in a number of cities, governorates, and centers in the Asir region, including Abha, Khamis Mushait, Muhayil, Bisha, Al-Majardah, and Sarat Ubaida, in addition to several other governorates and centers, which contributed to improving the urban landscape, raising the quality of life, and enhancing commercial activity in those sites. Al-Jali added that developing roads, public facilities, lighting, and pathways directly contributes to supporting the tourist season by providing a more organized and comfortable urban environment and enhancing the readiness of sites to receive increasing numbers of visitors during the summer season.
