The Evening Control Department of the Asir Region Municipality has confiscated more than 1,300 violative scooters since the beginning of 2026, as part of its ongoing efforts to enhance public safety and regulate the use of modern mobility devices in parks, gardens, and public facilities in Abha city.

The municipality explained that the control teams intensified their field tours to monitor violations related to the operation of scooters in public areas, as these vehicles were seized after detecting a number of infractions, most notably: driving in non-designated areas, obstructing pedestrian movement, and exposing park and garden visitors to risks that affect their safety.

The municipality stressed that these measures come within the framework of its efforts to raise the level of compliance with regulations and instructions, preserve the safety of visitors, and provide a safe and organized environment within public facilities, contributing to enhancing the quality of life and improving municipal services.

Asir Municipality indicated that the control campaigns will continue in coordination with relevant authorities to monitor violations and take legal action against violators, ensuring the preservation of public facilities and guaranteeing the rights of their users, and promoting the safe and organized use of modern mobility devices.
