11 Development Opportunities at the 'Vegetation Cover' Center

The National Center for Vegetation Cover Development and Combating Desertification has launched 11 investment opportunities in a number of national parks in the Medina region, as part of enhancing partnership with the private sector, supporting natural destination tourism, and contributing to achieving sustainable development goals and Saudi Vision 2030.

The Center explained that these investment opportunities aim to empower the private sector and expand its participation in implementing developmental projects with sustainable environmental and economic impact, with the goal of developing, protecting, and sustaining vegetation cover sites, enhancing the efficiency of natural resource investment, achieving a balance between economic development and natural resource conservation, promoting environmental sustainability and quality of life, as well as creating added value for local communities and supporting the national economy. The investment opportunities offered in the Medina region include a variety of activities, most notably camping, ecotourism, and paragliding, which contribute to developing national parks and solidifying their status as natural destinations attractive to visitors from within and outside the Kingdom.

It is worth mentioning that the Center is working on offering long-term investment opportunities alongside seasonal ones, in order to develop vegetation cover, support various afforestation works and projects, preserve natural resources, contribute to the development of the national economy, and provide new job opportunities for citizens, achieving the goals of the Saudi Green Initiative and Saudi Vision 2030.
