Jeddah Municipality Notifies Owners of Dilapidated Buildings Near Souq al-Qawzin

Yesterday, the Jeddah Municipality sent notifications to owners of dilapidated shops and buildings near Souq al-Qawzin, in preparation for completing legal procedures and carrying out demolition work, as part of its efforts to protect lives and property and address sites that pose a risk to public safety.

The head of the Southern Sub-municipality, Ibrahim Al-Salami, explained that the notifications granted owners a legal grace period of two months from the date of receipt, before starting demolition work. Owners of adjacent buildings were also notified of the planned procedures at the site.

He stated that the municipality inspected the sites, and the inspection results showed that their structural condition is unsafe, and that their continued existence in their current state poses a risk to public safety, necessitating their inclusion among the sites slated for removal.

The Jeddah Municipality affirmed its continued monitoring of dilapidated buildings and sites and addressing them according to approved legal procedures, contributing to preserving lives and property and enhancing the urban landscape.
