The General Directorate of Passports clarified that checking the previous Saudi passport and activating the new passport after renewal can be done by visiting one of the passport departments, branches, or international ports, without the need to book an appointment in advance.

The Passports Directorate confirmed that the beneficiary is obligated to bring the previous Saudi passport when requesting the check and activation, noting that the activation status can be verified at any time via the "Absher" platform.

The Directorate pointed out that a passport issued for the first time does not require any activation procedure, as it is ready for use immediately upon receipt.

The Passports Directorate called on beneficiaries to adhere to the instructions related to passport renewal and activation, ensuring the document is ready for use when traveling through international ports.
