The head of the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council, Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, affirmed that Yemeni diplomatic missions have become an essential part of the battle to defend the Yemeni Republic, its sovereignty, and its legitimate institutions, stressing the need to double diplomatic efforts to enhance the international isolation of the Houthi militias and consolidate the national narrative in international forums.

This came during a meeting held by Al-Alimi on Saturday with Yemen's ambassadors and heads of its diplomatic missions abroad, in the presence of the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Dr. Shaya Al-Zandani.

The head of the Presidential Leadership Council, on his behalf and on behalf of the Council and the government, expressed appreciation for the efforts of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and diplomatic missions in representing the Yemeni state, serving citizens and national interests abroad, despite the difficult circumstances the country is going through.

He explained that the responsibility of diplomatic missions in the current stage is no longer limited to the traditional representation of the state, but has become an integral part of the battle to defend the Yemeni Republic, its sovereignty, and its legitimate institutions.

He pointed out that recent developments have proven that national battles are no longer decided only on the ground, but in capitals, international organizations, media, pressure groups, and decision-making centers, stressing that the success of any military or political battle is now also linked to the ability to win the international stance, consolidate the national narrative, and protect the truth from disinformation campaigns.

Al-Alimi discussed the measures taken by the state in recent days to deal with the recent Houthi escalation at the political, diplomatic, and military levels, ensuring deterrence of any attempts to impose private agendas not related to the interests of the Yemeni people.

He said that the government has so far succeeded in turning this development 'from an attempt to portray it as an incident of operating a humanitarian flight, into a matter touching on the sovereignty of a UN member state, and a real test of the international community's ability to respect its rules and enforce its resolutions.'

He added that the Yemeni government has sensed increasing understanding from a number of brotherly and friendly countries, considering that this support represents an opportunity to be built upon in the coming period to enhance support for the government and the aspirations of Yemenis for security, stability, and peace.

The head of the Presidential Leadership Council directed the heads of diplomatic missions to redouble efforts to enhance the international isolation of the Houthi militias and defend the sovereignty of the Yemeni state and its legal status, while preserving the interests of the Yemeni people and their humanitarian priorities.

He stressed that restoring state institutions is the only way to achieve lasting peace, noting that the government's welcoming of any humanitarian effort, including the recent Jordanian initiative, reflects the state's approach and openness to initiatives that contribute to alleviating the suffering of citizens.

Al-Alimi stressed that the state 'will not allow the arrival of any flights outside its exclusive competencies, and the Houthis have no choice but to accept these alternatives and prioritize the interests of the Yemeni people over their narrow interests.'

He also called on heads of diplomatic missions to continue dismantling misleading Houthi narratives based on arguments, facts, and provisions of international law, away from emotional rhetoric, while highlighting what he described as gross human rights violations and the group's vision based on entrenching racism and undermining the idea of a state founded on justice, rule of law, and equal citizenship.
