The US military announced Wednesday the start of a new wave of strikes against Iranian military targets, on orders from President Trump, confirming that operations will continue to undermine Tehran's ability to threaten civilian and commercial navigation in the region.

The US Central Command denied the authenticity of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard's declaration of control over navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, stressing that the strait remains open to commercial vessels, and that US forces have assisted more than 900 ships in crossing it since the beginning of May.
