Moroccan Minister Delegate for National Defense Administration Abdellatif Loudiyi discussed on Thursday with French Minister of Armed Forces and Veterans Affairs Catherine Vautrin ways to enhance military cooperation between the two countries.

This came during a meeting between them in the capital Rabat, according to a statement issued by the Moroccan Ministry of Defense.

On Wednesday, Vautrin arrived in Rabat for a visit to Morocco on the occasion of the 15th session of the Moroccan-French High-Level Meeting, which lasts two days.

The statement indicated that the two sides discussed 'strengthening and diversifying bilateral cooperation between the Kingdom of Morocco and the French Republic'.

They also addressed 'issues of bilateral and regional nature'.

The two sides expressed 'the common ambition and desire to strengthen these relations by activating legal mechanisms in the field of defense industry'.

Earlier on Thursday, Morocco and France signed 12 cooperation agreements in various fields, including foreign affairs, civil aviation, railways, and culture, on the sidelines of the 15th session of the Joint Higher Commission for Cooperation between the two countries.

Since French President Emmanuel Macron's visit to Morocco in October 2024, there have been successive mutual visits by officials from both countries, interspersed with the signing of agreements in several sectors.

On that day, King of Morocco Mohammed VI and Macron signed the 'Declaration of Exceptional and Strong Partnership' between the two countries.
