(CNN) -- The US Army announced Sunday the death of another soldier during a controlled detonation of a downed Iranian drone. This comes less than 24 hours after announcing the deaths of two soldiers in Jordan.

US Central Command (CENTCOM) said in a social media post: "A US soldier was killed in northern Iraq on July 18 during a controlled detonation of unexploded ordnance from a downed Iranian one-way attack drone. Another soldier sustained minor injuries and is receiving medical treatment."

CENTCOM also announced the discovery of unidentified remains in Jordan after a soldier was listed as missing.

With these deaths, the number of US soldiers killed in the ongoing war lasting about five months rises to 17.
