The US Central Command said that US forces successfully destroyed the observation tower in Chabahar - Shahid Kalantari port, part of a maritime surveillance network stretching along the Iranian coast on the Sea of Oman.

It added via its account on the platform "X" that the Iranian Revolutionary Guard had used the observation tower for decades to track and target commercial ships transiting the Strait of Hormuz.

The US Central Command confirmed that the destruction of this tower directly weakens the Revolutionary Guard's ability to coordinate attacks targeting innocent civilian ship crews. Moreover, this strike contributes to protecting freedom of navigation in territorial waters for all ships, except those attempting to breach the US naval blockade currently imposed on Iran.
