A Palestinian teenager died on Saturday from wounds sustained by Israeli gunfire about a week ago during an army raid on the village of Al-Mughayyir, northeast of Ramallah in the occupied West Bank.

The official Palestinian news agency Wafa reported that the teenager, Fadi Hamdallah al-Naasan (17), "was martyred early Saturday morning from wounds inflicted by Israeli occupation forces' bullets in Al-Mughayyir village, northeast of Ramallah."

According to the agency, al-Naasan was critically wounded by an explosive bullet to the thigh during the army's raid on the village about a week ago.

It noted that Israeli forces and settlers attacked the home of a Palestinian family in the village on July 11, resulting in injuries to al-Naasan and three other Palestinians.

The West Bank has seen a surge in assaults by the Israeli army and settlers since October 2023, which, according to official Palestinian figures, have killed 1,181 Palestinians and injured around 13,000, in addition to the arrest of nearly 24,000 Palestinians.
