Director of 'Dune: Part Three' Reveals Secrets of the Third Part
Warner Bros and Legendary captured global attention after announcing the release date of the third and final part of the epic science fiction series 'Dune: Part Three', adapted from Frank Herbert's novel 'Dune Messiah', directed by Canadian Denis Villeneuve, on December 17 in Egypt and the Arab world. The film's director, in media statements in Cairo, revealed his vision for the final chapter of the 'Dune' trilogy, emphasizing that the film will have a different identity from the previous two parts, whether in style, tone, or narrative nature. Villeneuve affirmed that his goal from the beginning was not to repeat what the previous two films achieved, but to present a completely new experience, stating: 'I told the team that I don't want us to walk in our own footsteps, I want to take the audience to new places on Arrakis, and offer something new and refreshing.' He added that the third part represents a different stage in the story's evolution, and that the audience will discover a new aspect of this cinematic world that took years to build. The director explained that the film's construction is closer to thrillers than a war epic or traditional science fiction adventure, saying: 'It is closer to a thriller, and the story is denser, and more emotional as well,' noting that the novel 'Dune Messiah' on which the film is based is inherently darker and more complex, which is reflected in the directing style and dramatic treatment. Villeneuve pointed out that one of the biggest challenges he faced during the film's development was moving away from re-presenting the same elements that made the success of the first and second parts, explaining that the team constantly sought to discover new locations within the world of Arrakis, develop a different visual language, and give the film a new rhythm appropriate to the stage reached by Paul Atreides' journey.
