Capdevila (48 years old) posted a message on his social media accounts, in which he appealed to US President Donald Trump, asking for his help in resolving the crisis.
The former Villarreal full-back wrote: 'I was just told that I cannot travel to the final match with my children because my application for an electronic travel authorization was rejected.'
Obtaining an electronic travel authorization is a basic requirement for citizens eligible to travel to the United States without needing a visa.
Capdevila added: 'Can anyone help me with this? You cannot imagine how excited I am to be there, with all my teammates from the 2010 team, and to support this team... I can't believe they are not allowing me to enter the United States, and that I will miss a moment like this with my children, who love football so much.'
Capdevila also mentioned in his post the Spanish Ministry of Sports, and also appealed to US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, asking him to intervene to help.
