End of MLS stint after 6 months: James Rodríguez seeks 14th challenge
Minnesota United of the American league officially announced the departure of Colombian midfielder James Rodríguez, just six months after his arrival.
The club had the option to extend James's contract until next December, but it did not activate it, noting that since last January, the former Real Madrid player had only played eight matches with the Minnesota team.
After becoming a free agent, James Rodríguez must now look for his 14th club in his professional career.
The Colombian international player is 35 years old, and led his country's national team in the 2026 World Cup, reaching the round of 16 before losing to Switzerland on penalties.
However, his club situation seems more fragile: since his time with Bayern Munich between 2017 and 2019, the playmaker has not stayed more than one season at any club, and has moved between eight different teams in seven years.
