La Liga celebrated the dominance of graduates from its club academies in the Spain squad that won the 2026 FIFA World Cup held in North America.

The league said in a statement, '25 out of 26 players who were crowned world champions in New Jersey were formed in the academies' of its clubs.

It added that goalkeeper David Raya is the only one in the Spain squad not from Spanish club academies, having moved to England at the age of 16.

The league attributed this to a model based on 'a competitive environment that encourages players to compete from an early age, as a young player in Spain can reach adulthood after playing around 500 official matches during his formative stages.'

Spain beat Argentina 1-0 in the World Cup final after extra time to win the title for the second time after their success in 2010 in South Africa.

Spain thus crowned its strong run in the tournament, during which it conceded just one goal and defeated teams as strong as Portugal, Belgium and France.
