Klopp denies all falsely attributed statements: I will speak on Sunday
Jurgen Klopp, former Liverpool coach and candidate to lead the German national team, made decisive statements via a video on his Instagram account, categorically denying what social media had circulated of statements attributed to him about England's exit from the World Cup semi-finals or his criticism of coach Thomas Tuchel's plans.
Klopp said in the video: 'Today, I received many messages about things on social media claiming that I spoke about the England match, about Thomas Tuchel, tactical plans, and things like that,' confirming that everything published was 'completely untrue.'
The German coach revealed that he has not made any public statements for days, explaining: 'I have not spoken to anyone in the last three, four, or five days. The first time I will speak publicly will be on Sunday during the World Cup final,' referring to his work as an analyst for German channel 'Magenta TV.'
Klopp warned his followers not to believe everything published on social media, saying in a firm tone: 'It's a crazy world. Don't believe everything you read. This time, what was published is completely wrong.'
Klopp's denial came after widespread circulation of fake statements attributed to him following the English national team's loss to Argentina 2-1 in the semi-final last Wednesday, where coach Thomas Tuchel faced sharp criticism for his defensive approach after his team took a 1-0 lead, before Argentina scored two goals in the final minutes to secure qualification to the final.
Klopp was not part of the analysis team on 'Magenta TV' during the England-Argentina match, which confirms the impossibility of him making any comments about the match or Tuchel's performance, as the fabricated posts claimed.
Klopp is preparing to take over as coach of the German national team in the near future, after a career full of achievements with English Liverpool, where he led them to win the Champions League and the English Premier League.
