A Spanish club has revealed the first signing of Al-Nassr during the upcoming summer transfer window, before the Saudi club itself announced it.

Saudi newspaper 'Arriyadiyah' quoted statements from Hector Martin, the media officer at Real Mallorca, in which he announced the transfer of Portuguese midfielder Samu Costa to Al-Nassr.

Martin said: 'The deal was finalized between Mallorca and Al-Nassr, and a final agreement was reached between them regarding the transfer of Samu Costa, after the Saudi club outperformed an offer from German Leipzig and other European offers.'

According to what was previously revealed by Saudi newspaper 'Okaz', Al-Nassr agreed to sign the Portuguese midfielder for 9 million euros, to be paid in two installments, which is considered a modest amount.

Thus, Samu Costa will be the first deal Al-Nassr completes during the summer transfer window, as the club has not signed any player yet due to the financial crisis it is suffering from.

Samu Costa has a distinguished career, most of which he spent in Spain, playing for Almería between 2020 and 2023, before moving to Real Mallorca, where he currently plays.

Internationally, Costa began his journey with the Portuguese national team alongside Cristiano Ronaldo in October 2024, but he has only participated in 7 matches with him.

The 25-year-old was called up to participate with Portugal in the 2026 World Cup in the USA, Canada, and Mexico, but he only played in a single match as a substitute for 20 minutes, during a goalless draw with Colombia in the third round of the group stage.
