The Local Organizing Committee for the Saudi Arabia 2027 Asian Cup strengthened its record of operational excellence by winning the Gold Award from the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) for 2026, one of the world's most prestigious awards in health and safety, in recognition of its commitment to applying the highest standards in managing and organizing sports tournaments and events.

The award ceremony was held in the British capital London, organized by the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA), a leading global authority in occupational health and safety based in the United Kingdom.

This recognition came after a year in which the local committee managed a number of major football tournaments and events, including the 2026 AFC U-23 Asian Cup, the 2026 AFC Champions League Elite Finals, the 2026 AFC U-17 Asian Cup, as well as organizing the draw ceremony for the Saudi Arabia 2027 Asian Cup and the draw ceremony for the Arabian Gulf Cup 'Khaleeji 27'.

This achievement underscores the efficiency of the work led by the local committee in all stages of planning, organization, and execution, and its commitment to establishing a culture of health and safety as a fundamental part of operational success, in line with internationally approved best practices.

The local committee continues its preparations to host the Saudi Arabia 2027 Asian Cup, which the Kingdom will host from January 7 to February 5, 2027, in the cities of Riyadh, Jeddah, and Al Khobar, with 24 teams competing in 51 matches, in the first edition of the tournament to be held in the Kingdom.

The committee also continues its preparations to organize the Arabian Gulf Cup 'Khaleeji 27', which the city of Jeddah will host from September 23 to October 6, 2026, as part of a series of tournaments that reflect the Kingdom's growing status on the map of hosting major sporting events.

This award is an extension of the local committee's track record in developing a safe working environment and enhancing the efficiency of operational processes, thereby supporting its readiness to organize a continental tournament that meets the Kingdom's aspirations and reflects the growing status of Saudi sports regionally and internationally.
