Samsung is preparing to announce the Galaxy Z Fold 8 series next week, and the focus in this new generation – specifically the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra model – is expected to be on clear improvements in internal display technologies.
Below are the top five anticipated updates to the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra display compared to the previous generation:
Higher resolution for the foldable display
The internal display retains the same size (8 inches) and refresh rate, but the resolution is expected to increase from 2184 x 1968 pixels to 2504 x 2256 pixels.
This development raises the pixel density from approximately 368ppi to 422ppi, directly enhancing text and image clarity.
Greater display brightness
Reports indicate that the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra will feature a peak brightness of 3,000 nits, compared to 2,600 nits on the Z Fold 7.
This increase means clearer content viewing, especially in direct sunlight or when watching HDR content.

Anti-reflective layer
Samsung will introduce an anti-reflective layer for the foldable display, helping to reduce reflections under strong lighting.
Although it may not be as effective as the Gorilla Glass Armor layer used on its other flagship phones, it will improve the outdoor usage experience.
Flex Titanium technology
Samsung uses the new Flex Titanium hinge technology, which includes a layer of titanium alloy beneath the OLED panel, providing greater rigidity while maintaining thinness.
Assembly improvements and air gap treatment aim to make the display crease nearly invisible.
Glass-like feel closer to traditional phones
The foldable display will feature an Ultra Thin Glass panel that is 33% thicker than the previous generation, increasing its resistance to pressure and enhancing the glass-like feel closer to what users experience on non-foldable phones.
With these improvements, the Z Fold 8 Ultra display is expected to be clearer, brighter, and easier to view in various conditions. Its usage experience will also approach that of traditional phones, while reducing the most prominent drawbacks of foldable displays, such as light reflections and the visibility of the crease.
