The National Center for Meteorology issued a warning of continued expectations of thunderstorms accompanied by hail and active winds, today Tuesday, in parts of Jazan, Asir, Al-Baha and the southern highlands of Makkah.

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia continues to record high temperatures and seasonal thunderstorms with the onset of summer.

The center pointed to high maximum temperatures in parts of the Eastern Province and Riyadh, with both Riyadh and Dammam recording the highest expected temperature of 46 degrees Celsius.

On the Red Sea, the center expected surface winds to be northwesterly to westerly at 15-40 km/h in the northern and central parts, and northwesterly to northeasterly at 10-28 km/h in the southern part, possibly exceeding 50 km/h with the formation of rainy thunderclouds, with waves ranging from half a meter to two meters.

As for the Arabian Gulf, winds will be northwesterly to westerly at 15-38 km/h in the northern parts, and northeasterly to southeasterly at 10-28 km/h in the central and southern parts, with wave heights ranging between half a meter and one and a half meters.

These forecasts come within the usual climatic pattern during this period of the year, where seasonal winds lead to the formation of thunderclouds over the southwestern highlands. Residents are advised to exercise caution while driving in volatile weather conditions, especially with the possibility of active winds and reduced visibility. The center emphasizes continuous monitoring of weather conditions.
