The Iranian government announced on Saturday that at least 50 people have been killed and more than 500 others injured in the latest US strikes on Iran since the recent escalation in the Gulf region.

Ministry of Health spokesman Hossein Kermanpour wrote on platform X that 460 people have left hospitals after receiving treatment, while 37 others are still receiving medical care.

The Iranian government usually only announces civilian casualty numbers, while there are no official figures on military losses.

The US military has focused its attacks mainly on the southern coastal provinces of Iran.

In the oil-rich industrial province of Khuzestan in the southwest of the country, authorities recorded strikes targeting 95 sites over the past ten days, according to the Tasnim news agency.
