The Russian Defense Ministry announced on Wednesday that Russian air defense forces shot down 242 Ukrainian drones over various Russian regions, as well as over the Sea of Azov and the Black Sea.

The ministry issued a statement saying: "During the night, between 8:00 p.m. Moscow time on July 21 and 8:00 a.m. Moscow time on July 22, on-duty air defense forces intercepted and destroyed 242 Ukrainian drones over the territories of Belgorod, Bryansk, Kaluga, Kursk, Novgorod, Oryol, Pskov, Leningrad, Rostov, Ryazan, Smolensk, Tver, and Tula regions."

The Russian Defense Ministry added in the statement: "Drones were also shot down over the Moscow region, Krasnodar Krai, Stavropol Krai, the Republic of Crimea, and over the basins of the Black Sea and Sea of Azov."

One killed, 15 wounded in Ukrainian attack

On the same note, one person was killed and 15 were injured in Ukrainian attacks on Russia overnight that specifically targeted warehouses of the e-commerce giant Wildberries, according to authorities on Wednesday.

This was the second attack in a few days on the company, which is very popular in Russia, after Ukraine on Saturday targeted two large warehouses belonging to it near Moscow, resulting in the death of 8 night-shift employees and fires that almost destroyed the facilities.

Wildberries CEO Tatyana Kim said in a statement on Telegram: "Our logistics centers were attacked tonight in Krasnodar and Nevinnomyssk in southern Russia," noting that the attacks caused injuries and that the targeted sites were evacuated of staff.

Krasnodar Krai Governor Veniamin Kondratyev reported that 10 people were injured in the attack on a warehouse complex that caught fire.

He also noted that one person was killed by falling drone debris that hit a company in Armavir.
