Washington tightens its naval blockade on Iran.. and announces diversion of 8 ships and disabling another
The US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced Tuesday evening that it continues to enforce the naval blockade on Iran, confirming that US forces diverted 8 commercial ships and disabled another as of July 21, as part of its measures to ensure full implementation of the blockade imposed on Iranian ports.
The command said in a statement that 'every operational success in the Middle East begins and ends with the efforts of military service members who continue to focus on carrying out their missions,' praising the role of forces participating in monitoring maritime navigation and enforcing restrictions on Iran.
It added that the recent measures included diverting eight commercial ships and preventing another from continuing its voyage, a step aimed at tightening control over shipping movements linked to Iran, as part of ongoing US operations in the region.
