Kuwait announced on Saturday that a second power generation and water desalination plant was subjected to an Iranian attack, causing a fire, while Kuwait Airways announced the rescheduling of most of its flights following the Iranian assaults.

The Iranian attack led to the disconnection of several generation units, a day after an Iranian attack on another power plant also caused a fire and damage.

The Ministry of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy said in a statement: 'In light of the sinful Iranian aggression on the State of Kuwait, another power and water desalination station was subjected to a hostile attack, resulting in a fire breaking out in one of the station's components, prompting precautionary operational measures including the disconnection of several generation units to ensure the safety of the station and its workers, and to maintain the stability of the electrical system.'

The ministry indicated that emergency plans have been activated, while firefighting and repair work continue.

On the other hand, and on the same matter, Kuwait Airways announced on Saturday the rescheduling of most of its flights after the temporary suspension of takeoffs and landings at Kuwait International Airport following Iranian attacks with missiles and drones.

The company had earlier stated that the rescheduling of flights was due to the closure of Kuwaiti airspace.

The Kuwaiti army had announced earlier on Saturday morning that it is 'currently' intercepting missiles and drones launched from Iran.

The General Staff of the Kuwaiti Army said that air defenses 'are currently repelling hostile missile and drone attacks following the sinful Iranian aggression.'
