Kuwait's Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy announced on Friday that one of its power and water desalination plants was targeted in an attack, which it described as part of the "sinful Iranian aggression" against the country.

The ministry explained that the attack caused extensive damage to the plant's facilities, ignited a fire, and damaged a large number of power generation units, prompting the activation of emergency plans and immediate intervention to mitigate the repercussions of the incident and maintain the stability of the electrical system.

General firefighting teams managed to control and extinguish the fire, while technical and emergency teams began assessing the extent of the damage, securing the plant, and working to restore the damaged units to service as soon as possible.

The ministry affirmed that its teams are working around the clock to ensure continuity of service, calling on citizens and residents to rationalize electricity consumption during this phase to support grid stability and expedite repair and rehabilitation of the damaged facilities.
