Barcelona officially announced on Thursday the signing of German Karim Adeyemi from Borussia Dortmund, bolstering the Catalan team for the upcoming phase.

Barcelona stated on its official website that it reached an agreement with Borussia Dortmund regarding the transfer of striker Karim Adeyemi, who signed a contract with the Catalan club until 2031.

Adeyemi is Barcelona's second signing in the current summer transfer window, following English winger Anthony Gordon from Newcastle.

With this, Adeyemi will again have the opportunity to reunite with Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick, who gave him his first appearance with the German national team when he was in charge of Die Mannschaft.

Adeyemi was born in Munich on January 18, 2002, to a Nigerian father and a Romanian mother, and brings to Barcelona an exciting and versatile attacking style.

Throughout his career, Adeyemi has shown his ability to play on both wings as well as in the center of attack, combining exceptional speed and a strong left foot, according to Barcelona's official website.

These qualities make him another valuable option for Flick, who knows him well; while Adeyemi was playing for Red Bull Salzburg, his first professional club, the current Barcelona coach gave him his debut with the German national team.

That was nearly five years ago, and now the two reunite under completely different circumstances; during this period, Adeyemi spent the last four seasons with Borussia Dortmund, where he shone in both the Bundesliga and the UEFA Champions League.
