A Barcelona star has been ruled out of Al Hilal's plans during the current summer transfer window, thanks to Dutch winger Crysencio Summerville, who is soon to join West Ham United.

Media reports had confirmed that Al Hilal is close to signing Summerville in the current summer transfer window for €80 million, making him the second most expensive player in the history of the Saudi league.

Catalan newspaper Sport said that Al Hilal's deal for Summerville ended the possibility of signing Brazilian winger Raphinha from Barcelona in the current summer transfer window.

The newspaper explained that Al Hilal entered the transfer window with Raphinha at the top of its interests, allocating a huge amount to sign him, whether for his purchase from Barcelona or regarding the salary he would receive.

However, the Brazilian winger's persistent insistence on staying with Barcelona under German coach Hansi Flick prompted the Saudi club to consider signing a new winger instead, and the choice fell on Summerville.

Thus, Raphinha's stay with Barcelona for the next season at least is confirmed, closing one of the most complicated files for the Catalan club in recent times.

It is worth noting that Raphinha delivered very strong performances for Barcelona in the last two seasons, to the extent that he was one of the top candidates to win the Ballon d'Or in 2025, before it was won by Frenchman Ousmane Dembélé, the Paris Saint-Germain winger.
