Samsung and Google have announced the final design of the first smart glasses named Intelligent Eyewear, developed in collaboration with brands Gentle Monster and Warby Parker, combining Gemini AI technologies and modern designs in a single product designed for daily use.

The new glasses are based on the Snapdragon AR1 Gen1 platform and run the Android XR operating system, featuring lightweight frames and slim thickness to ensure comfort during prolonged use without sacrificing durability.

The Gentle Monster version comes in an elegant black frame with soft corners, while Warby Parker offers a brown design with sloped top edges. Samsung, in collaboration with partners, has worked to improve sizing details to fit the face and ears for a more comfortable wear.

The glasses include a built-in camera, microphones, and speakers, with touch-sensitive areas on the arm for touch control.

The camera allows detection of what the user sees and provides intelligent assistance features through Gemini.

The glasses can be controlled via voice commands or touch, with gesture support when paired with Galaxy Watch 9 or later versions for enhanced ease of use.

Gemini works in the background to summarize long messages and provide real-time translation through voice commands or simple gestures, in addition to the ability to capture screenshots and organize information in the Samsung Notes app.

Gemini also provides navigation directions based on the user's geographic location and instant information about nearby places or landmarks through continuous contextual interaction.

The glasses support sharing what the user sees during calls, utilizing personal data (with user permission) to increase the accuracy of the information provided.

The glasses integrate with Google and Samsung services such as Google Maps, Google Translate, Samsung Notes, Spotify, and YouTube Music.

The battery lasts up to 9 hours of mixed use, while the charging case provides seven additional full charges.

Samsung has not yet revealed the launch date or pricing, but the glasses will be available with prescription lens options on request, with the possibility of expanding the lineup in the future to include new designs. Intelligent Eyewear is expected to hit the market this year.
