The National Center of Meteorology expected in its report on today's weather conditions moderate to heavy thunderstorms leading to torrential flows accompanied by hail showers in parts of Jazan and Asir regions, and light to moderate in parts of Makkah Al-Mukarramah, Al-Baha and Najran regions, while the effect of active winds stirring dust and sand continues in parts of those areas as well as parts of Madinah, Riyadh, Eastern Province, Northern Borders and Al-Jouf regions. Maximum temperatures continue to rise in the east and parts of central Kingdom.

The report indicated that surface wind movement over the Red Sea is northwesterly to westerly at 10-32 km/h in the northern part, and southwesterly to westerly at 10-25 km/h in the central and southern parts, reaching 50 km/h with formation of rainy thunderclouds in the southern part. Wave height ranges from half a meter to one and a half meters in the northern part, and from half a meter to one meter in the central and southern parts, exceeding two and a half meters with formation of rainy thunderclouds in the southern part. Sea state is light to moderate waves in the northern part, and light waves in the central and southern parts, becoming rough with formation of rainy thunderclouds in the southern part.

As for the Arabian Gulf, surface wind movement will be northwesterly to northeasterly at 15-30 km/h, wave height from half a meter to one and a half meters, and sea state light to moderate waves.
