The National Center of Meteorology expects continued thunderstorm rainfall accompanied by hail showers and active winds, today Wednesday, over parts of Jazan, Asir, and Al-Baha regions, extending to the southern parts of the highlands of Mecca Region.

The Center explained that maximum temperatures will remain high — possibly reaching 46°C — over parts of the Eastern Region and Riyadh, while active winds raising dust and sand affect these areas, in addition to parts of Mecca, Medina, and Tabuk.

Regarding sea winds, the Center indicated that surface winds over the Red Sea will be northwesterly to westerly at speeds of 12-38 km/h over the northern and central parts, and northwesterly to northeasterly at 10-28 km/h over the southern part, with gusts possibly exceeding 50 km/h accompanying rainy thunderclouds.

As for the Arabian Gulf, winds will be northwesterly to westerly at 15-40 km/h over the northern parts, and northwesterly to southwesterly at 10-28 km/h over the central and southern parts, with sea state remaining between light and moderate waves.
