Today's Weather Forecast: Thunderstorms and Winds in Several Regions

The National Center of Meteorology expected in its report on today's weather – God willing – moderate to heavy thunderstorms leading to flash floods, accompanied by hail, in parts of Jazan and Asir regions, and light to moderate rain in parts of Mecca, Al Baha and Najran regions, while the impact of active winds stirring up dust and sand continues over parts of those areas as well as parts of Medina, Riyadh, Eastern Province, Northern Borders and Al Jouf regions. Maximum temperatures continue to rise in the east and parts of the center of the Kingdom. The report indicated that surface wind movement over the Red Sea will be northwesterly to westerly at 10-32 km/h in the northern part, and southwesterly to westerly at 10-25 km/h in the central and southern parts, reaching 50 km/h with the formation of rainy thunderclouds in the southern part. Wave height will range from half a meter to one and a half meters in the northern part, and from half a meter to one meter in the central and southern parts, reaching over two and a half meters with the formation of rainy thunderclouds in the southern part. Sea state will be light to moderate in the northern part, and light in the central and southern parts, turning rough with the formation of rainy thunderclouds in the southern part. As for the Arabian Gulf, surface winds will be northwesterly to northeasterly at 15-30 km/h, wave height from half a meter to one and a half meters, and sea state light to moderate.
