Weather Forecast Today: Thunderstorms and Winds in 5 Regions...
The National Center of Meteorology forecast in its report on today’s weather – God willing – thunderstorms accompanied by hail and active winds in parts of Makkah, Al-Baha, Asir, and Jazan regions, extending to parts of Najran region, while the weather remains hot to extremely hot in the Eastern Province and parts of Riyadh and Al-Madinah regions. The effect of active winds stirring up dust and sand continues in parts of those regions as well as parts of the Northern Borders, Al-Jouf, Tabuk regions and the eastern parts of the western and southwestern highlands of the Kingdom. The report indicated that surface wind movement over the Red Sea will be northwest to westerly in the northern part and northwest to southwesterly in the central part at speeds of 5–45 km/h, and southeast to southwesterly at speeds of 12–34 km/h, reaching 50 km/h with the formation of rainy thunderclouds in the southern part. Wave height will range from one to two meters in the northern part, from one to two meters reaching over 2.5 meters during the early morning hours in the central part, and from half a meter to one and a half meters reaching over two meters with the formation of rainy thunderclouds in the southern part. Sea state will be light to moderate waves, becoming choppy in the central part as well with the formation of rainy thunderclouds in the southern part. Meanwhile, wind movement over the Arabian Gulf will be northwest to northeasterly at speeds of 15–30 km/h, wave height from half a meter to one and a half meters, and sea state light to moderate waves.
