Dhahban Municipality Seizes 300 Spoiled Chickens and Impounds Vehicle Transporting Them Without Refrigeration
Dhahban Municipality seized 300 spoiled chickens weighing 270 kg and impounded the vehicle used for transport due to lack of refrigeration.
Dhahban Sub-Municipality, under the Jeddah Governorate Municipality, in coordination with relevant authorities, seized 300 chickens unfit for human consumption, with a total weight of 270 kilograms, at the entrance of the municipality's jurisdiction before the poultry reached marketing centers.
The head of Dhahban Sub-Municipality, Abdullah bin Hamoud Mubaraki, explained that inspection teams detected the poultry showing signs of spoilage, which were being transported and stored inside a vehicle that was not equipped or refrigerated, in clear violation of the health regulations governing food transport and handling.
Mubaraki added that the campaign resulted in the complete destruction of the seized items, while the vehicle used for transporting the poultry was impounded, and legal procedures against the violator are being completed.
He affirmed the continuation of field inspection tours in cooperation with relevant authorities to monitor violations related to public health and ensure compliance of commercial activities with approved health requirements, thereby protecting consumers and ensuring food safety.
